Invitation from the Director General Principal Director
It is matter of pride for me to introduce this current seventh batch of MBA Power
Management to the Electricity Industry. The young managers are eager to test
their mettle in the tough business environment. The Centre for Advanced
Management and Power Studies, NPTI with its extremely talented faculty
prepares them to take on challenges with a holistic approach. Equipped with a
technical background the students understand the complex issues of Open
Access, Power Trading, Fuel Linkages, Merchant Power Plants, Climate
Change, New Transmission Pricing and Introduction of Renewable
Certification.
The Management knowledge and skills supplement the technical background
to equip them better. Power sector as we know, now needs a more holistic approach. It has been a thing of the
past that pure technical knowledge used to be the, 'be all know all'. More than ever, the Indian power sector
needs a symbiotic relationship with management.
I am sure that the diverse mixes of Techno- Managers in the current batch are raring to go and achieve business
excellence as well contribute to the national development. The students are ready for their 'trial by fire'.
