Student Preparation
Before you meet:
Prepare a brief description of who you are that you can share with your mentor. Include your
goals, your passions and what you are good at. If you have already met with your mentor share
what has occurred since your last meeting (experiences, change of plans etc).

support, guidance)

1. Questions about your mentors profession
2. Who they are where they came from etc.
3. How they decided on their career (what are the passions, strengths and values)
4. What are some of the most important lessons they have learned?
5. Suggestions they may have given your goals in life.
6. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE! (Make sure these align with your goals)
After determine:
1. How will you keep in touch? How often?
2. Ask for their information (business card?)
3. THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME!
4. Write them a thank you letter immediately after you meet.
