Weekly Schedule
Principals,

Education is a calling. I truly believe that all true educators
are in this profession for the right reason -- to better edu-
cate the children of the future. We will encounter future
lawyers, leaders, doctors or even a future president. Ulti-
mately, its a thankless job.

What happens when we encounter a teacher that is in the
profession for the wrong reasons? Are we obligated as lead-
ers to help escort these individuals out of the profession,
especially those who are damaging students and their abil-
ity to be successful? We are not talking about moving
someone to another campus; we are talking about helping
them change careers.

We can damage a relationship with an adult, and they may
never get over the tough decision you have to make as the
chief instructional leader. The big question is, can you tol-
erate a teacher damaging students? The damage may last
an eternity. It takes three strong teachers in a row to coun-
teract one bad teacher. We have an obligation to our most
precious resources, the students that grace our presence
every day. They deserve the best. They deserve every op-
portunity to discover and surpass any and all expectations.

Be courageous! Have the difficult/courageous conversa-
tions. Your students are relying on you to remove all edu-
cational barriers, big or small. We must keep this in mind
as we start the hiring season. Make sure you are hiring the
best. Your students are relying on your expertise.
