As it is well known fact that XMLPublisher stores the metadata and physical files for templates and data definitions in BLOB
columns in its schema. During Deelopment you need to download information from a deelopment instance to a test instance
before porting oer to production enironment.!hese steps you normally follow"
#se the $%DLOAD utility to upload and download the data definition information and the template metadata stored in
the !emplate Manager.
#se the XDOLoader utility to upload and download the physical files &'!$( PD$( X)L*$O( XML( and X)D+.
Using FNDLOAD to Manage Metadata
As per user guide(both templates and data definitions are stored in the database( therefore we can use the $%DLOAD loader to
download the metadata for these ob,ects and then to upload this metadata to another instance. !he $%DLOAD program
re-uires a control file &lct+ as discussed earlier that XML Publisher proides for use with its ob,ects. !he file which is used called
.dotmpl.lct and it is located under your APPL/!OP directory as follows"

XDOLoader is @aa*based command line program utility to load template files for XML Publisher

!he XDOLoader has two modes
1. File download onl* %ode " !his mode is normally used to download files from the XDO/LOB) table. )pecify the
target LOB/;OD4( APP)/)<O'!/%AM4( and LOB/!7P4( LA%A#AA4( and !4'':!O'7 to download all files that match
the criteria.
B. File download and LDT+D),X generation %ode ' !his mode can be used to download files from the XDO/LOB)
tables and create and LD! file for the downloaded file. %ote" A D'5X file is also created. !his file is used by Oracle
Deelopment to load templates during patch application. :t is not re-uired for use at your site and can be ignored.
