Objective


My goal is instill the love of learning I have into my students. Teaching and
helping people with special needs has always been a passion of mine and
working towards that goal has brought me nothing but joy. I know I am meant for
a job in this line of work and I will always be working to better myself and my
knowledge for my students.
Work Experience

Throughout high school I was a Teachers Assistant in HIRE learning classes. I
started working with students who were my own age and sometimes older in the

th
grade and continued through my senior year. Being able to go through
experiences and relate to the students, because we were the same age, gave me
a unique perspective and relation to them as teenagers. Ive known since my time
as a Teachers assistant I would be working in this field.

Accomplishments

I have had experience with grading papers with a key, putting grades into grade
books, working with students one-on-one and in groups. Some experience giving
and explaining assignments. These are some educational skills Ive learned, but
Ive learned so much more when dealing with students emotions and needs. I
have taken pride in my ability to relate to students and understand their feelings in
and out of the classroom. Ive learned through experience that each student has
very unique attributes and I love channeling into those and putting them to use.

Activities

I have been on various and several field trips with special education classes and
helped with attendance and keeping track of students. I have worked with the
Boys and Girls Club as a basketball coach and assisted with the after school
program. I was Player of the Year in basketball and soccer and a state champion
in track during high school so athletics are a big part of my life. I have worked with
HIRE learning students during my student observation and worked in small
groups in all subjects during that time also.

Interests

I was a four year varsity letterman in three sports during high school, so Ive
always been passionate about athletics. I hope to also coach as well as teach in
high school. I am also very passionate about education and always have been. I
love learning and bettering myself as a teacher and person. Im interested in
travel and how we can better more rural parts of this world.
