Tonya M.

Eubanks began working at Trezevant High School located in Memphis, Tennessee after nearly
fifteen years of a rewarding career as a chemical analyst at several prominent companies in the
Memphis area, including, Quaker Oats Chemicals, Woodson-Tenent Laboratories, Premcor Oil Refinery,
and Lab Corporation of American. In these positions she was responsible for quality control procedures,
sample testing and preparation, GC trouble shooting and maintenance, and generating a variety of
reports and other documents to support the testing process. She has a degree in chemistry from Fisk
University a historically black university located in Nashville, Tennessee. She also received her teaching
certificate from Crichton College, and recently received a masters degree in science education
(chemistry) from Western Governors University which is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ms. Eubanks has participated in a variety of professional development programs designed to enhance
her skills as an educator, such as, the Tennessee Mathematics, Science and Technology professional
development sponsored as a collaborative effort by the Tennessee Department of Education, Middle
Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, University of Memphis, and the Oak
Ridge Institute of Science Education, the Teacher Diversity Program (Crichton College), and most
recently, a guided chemistry workshop sponsored by the University of Memphis (Summer 2014).

Ms. Eubanks is actively involved at Ardmore Terrace Baptist Church and is a board member of the
church, as well as, as a member of the womens ministry. She also volunteers at the local Salvation
Army and is a mentor to a host of children and students throughout her community. Outside of
professional interests, she enjoys reading, walking, movies, music, and spending time with her family.
