VACANCY Freshwater Programme Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Freshwater Programme Coordinator will drive forward WW Tanzanias work to address the most
unsustainable processes and impacts affecting freshwater in Tanzania and support public and private
sectors policies that promotes better water management across Tanzania in conjunction with other
WWF offices across astern !frica" The Coordinator will ensure WWF#Tanzania pla$s a ke$ role in
the global WWF networks wide portfolio of work on water% rivers and wetlands"
Main Duties and responsibiities:
Providing intellectual leadership and ensuring strategic approach to work on testing% demonstrating and
informing water resources management polic$ and practice& developing and implementing an effective
monitoring and evaluation plan for the programme with a strong focus on measuring and delivering
conservation impacts& developing and leading the deliver$ of a coordinated advocac$ strateg$ on public
and private polic$ linked to water basin projects& !ctivel$ engaging with government offices% research
institutes% and private sector business in driving forward the WWFs water securit$ and stewardship
agenda in Tanzania& 'upervising Freshwater Programme (fficers and )ecutants& Providing
information and e)pertise needed to support fundraising WWFs communication and fundraising
efforts& and providing pro#active and constructive support to related global programmatic work
including WWF&s Water 'ecurit$ and Water 'tewardship programmes and working on climatic
adaptation"
!e"uired #uai$i%ations:
*older of a postgraduate degree in h$drolog$% water resources management% or environmental studies&
+inimum of , $ears of working e)perience in conservation work related to water resources
management issues& *aving strong polic$ anal$sis and strategic thinking skills& Fluent in nglish and
-iswahili languages"
