Worshipper

1. As the waves and the foam are nothing but water,

So are the Master and His devotee.

2. God has saved His worshippers,

And all their worry and pain have vanished.

3. Says Nanak,
His worshippers are ever happy.

4. Thy Nam is the source of all bliss,

It resides in the minds of Thy worshippers.

5. He becomes holy,
Who sings the glory of the Holy.

6. Thou art the touchstone,

I am the rough iron ore,
By touching Thee I have become gold,

Are dyed with the colour of Thy Nam.

8. He is the highest of the high,

He is the purest of the pure,
In whose heart God resides.

9. the godly men have attained the Ever-existent

and All-pervading Lord,
And are respected everywhere.

10. He who does not possess knowledge of God

Is like a corpse in this world,
And has to wander through eighty-four lacs of births.

11. He who forgets the Lord's Word in this transient world,

Shall have to repent in the end.

12. In whose heart the Lord resides,

Why should he worry about anything?

13. During the voyage of this life in which sin and scepticism dominate,
Only a Brahmagyanit reaches the shore safe and sound.

14. Says Kabir,

He alone is perfect in this world in whose heart god resides.

15. Who can comprehend the glory Of those who have realized the Lord?

16. What sort of difference exists between Thee and

me and me and Thee, O Lord?
It is just that difference which one marks
Between gold and the gold ring or the water and its waves.

O conch! remain in the ocean-your beloved;

Otherwise you shall cry from temple to temple
