To Scan
1. Place sheet facedown on Xerox Nuvera
2. Put 8.5 x 11 sheet if needed
3. Scan to file > PDF > 1200 DPI > Scan > End Job Build
4. Cyberduck > Nuvera > Save PDF
Cropping in Photoshop
1. Use pen tool to draw around the object
2. Paths > Select path
3. Create layer mask (inverse) (also used for blending/blurring)
4. Brush tool and paint over for adjustments
5. Pen tool around certain parts to edit
Step up Files
Templates > InDesign Templates CS5.5 > Select needed template
Select box > Place file
Center: command + shift + m
To drag: hold shift + option
Repeat: command + D
Tabs
Control + shift + T
Leader = what follows before
X: space
Select text, set tabs, tab + paste
Saving as PDF
Add watermark: ATP/Proof Only
Change preset to High Quality Print if doc has bleeds
Printing
1. Load stock and adjust sides if needed
2. Before closing, select the stock on the computer (Stock Library)
3. Close tray
4. Start printing > held > media and select type > print
5. Print one as a test, stamp and do any edits
6. Go back to printed > change # of copies

Two Sided: Layout > Duplex > Top-top, cut crop marks to see if back aligns, if not go
to finishing > input measurement to align
Colour Adjusting: Devices Center > ATP > find colour and adjust

Scale w/ Consistent Stroke Weight
Transform > Scale > Check Scale strokes and effects

1. Place edited text on art boards w/ PDFs
2. Object > Flatten Transparency (Preset = outlines) > Release clipping mask/ungroup
and align
3. Command + shift + o = Select all of the same colour and change

Create a Template
Example of sizes:
Sheet: 18.9 x 12.4
Artwork size: 2.875 x 4.375
Gutter: 0.125
Vertical Offsets: 2.875 + 0.125 = 3
Horizontal Offsets: 4.375 + 0.125 = 4.5
Bleed: 0.0625

1. Figure out which way to step up with max. number of artwork sheets (landscape or
portrait)
2. Place one guideline vertically in the center: shift + 1
3. Place second guideline horizontally in the center: shift + 2
4. Step and repeat vertical center guideline by 3 (right) and -3 (left): command +
option + u
5. Step and repeat horizontal center guideline by 4.5 (down) and -4.5 (up)
6. Step and repeat vertical guidelines by 0.0625/-0.0625
7. Step and repeat horizontal guidelines by 0.0625/-0.0625
8. Middle three horizontal and vertical guidelines should be in sets of 3 (delete outer
ones so there are only 2)
9. Crop marks: draw vertical and horizontal mark (0.2 stroke) in upper left corner
10. Step and repeat horizontal mark by 4.375 and select both, repeat by 4.5, command +
d to repeat all the way
11. Same idea for the top, step and repeat by 2.875 then 3 once the two marks are
selected
12. Group all of top side together and left side together
13. Option + drag top side to the bottom and left to the right side.
14. Command + option + c = fill gutter and expand box

Calibration
1. Go to calibration
2. Paper in tray one, set a temporary profile: 126 m/g2, gloss (Custom Stock should
be in blue)
3. Print out calibration sheet and cut sides (leaving 1/2 inch top and bottom)
4. Place sheet on slider
5. Follow instructions onscreen to scan each colour (hold button)
6. Calibration complete
