Question Description Marks
1.
Consider the following statements and prove f(x)=f(g(x))
x = 5691 is a number represented in Decimal System.
f is a function which converts the given number into Hexadecimal System.
g is a function which converts the given number into Binary Number System

2.
Mr. XR wants to subtract 23 from 79 at binary level. Can you illustrate different
procedures to solve the problem? Identify a best method for the above problem solving.
Justify your answer.

3. Using algebraic laws minimize the given expression (state the postulates wherever
manipulation is taken place) F = ABC' + BC'D' + BC + C'D.

4. Design a logic circuit to produce a high output only if the input has two 1s. Here the
input is a 4-bit (B3, B2, B1, B0) binary number. If the number of 1s in input is less than
2 and greater than 2, then these combinations can be neglected (dont care). Even if the
input composed of similar bits are also neglected. Implement a minimized circuit.

5.

Design a logic circuit for digital system, which takes two inputs and produces two
outputs. This logic circuit does not produce the output based on previous inputs.
Illustrate the procedure and output expressions with logic gates.
