Andrea Villarreals Leadership Plan

As a single parent, I understand that my plans to become an administrator has a great

impact on my future. Knowing that I will be more nancially independent for my child and I is
probably the most important aspect in this career choice. Having a higher level of education is
also a great inuence that I want to pass on to my child. Letting him see that more education
can lead to more success is something that i denitely hope to instill in him.
When it comes to values, Family, Truth, Love, Integrity, and Wisdom are the highest in
my regards. In my opinion, family is love. Always being able to count on your family members is
an important facet to have in life. With their support, I have been able to pursue my dream of
becoming an educational administrator. I want people to value my truth and know that I am a
person of great integrity. In a campus environment, it is not only important for your staff to
believe in you, but the students need to have faith in you as well. Wisdom can also be a
powerful key to success. Knowledge is power and the more you know the more you can grow
and share with others.
There are many goals that I have set for myself. My individual goal for my self-
improvement involves me taking time for myself in order to relieve un-needed stress. In addition,
an interpersonal goal is to become more patient with myself and others. As a team/
organizational goal, I plan on collaborating closely with my new English/Language Arts team at
Dulles High School so that we can have a successful year together. Community goals are also
important to have. My community goal is to become more familiar with my campus community
and reach out to my students and parents; therefore, they know that I am there to support them.
Lastly, but denitely not the least, is my professional goal. My professional goal is to become a
member of a schools administration. At rst, I plan on becoming an assistant principal at a
campus and improving my level of leadership and competency of the role for 2-3 years. I then
plan to become the campus principal. I realize that these goals will impact both myself and my
family. With hard work and regular checks on my goal progress, I am sure to stay on track.
Seeking assistance from other professionals in my career can also bolster me to reach my
goals.
I have always been a person of my word and once I make a commitment to a person or
to a goal, I stick to it. Using my strengths and having my family support, will help me achieve all
that I take on.
