WHEN THE TEACHER ENTERS...

! At the start of the period, the iPad should be placed fat on the table and the screen should be visible to the teacher. All apps
should be turned of. The table should be clear of unnecessary materials.
! iPads may be turned on only after the opening prayer and upon the signal of the teacher.
! Come to school with your iPads fully charged. Charging will only be allowed when CLE is the last period of the day.
DURING CLASS ENCOUNTERS/DISCUSSIONS...
! Mindful of the fact that you can choose and can be responsible for your choices, taking down notes is left to your discretion. But
knowing the merits of taking down notes, you are encouraged to take down notes either on your iPad or in your CLE notebook.
! Know that NOT ALL lecture notes and/or keynote presentations will be made available to you.
! During the period, make sure that the screen of your iPad is visible to the teacher and he/she can easily see what you are doing.
Increase the brightness of your iPad for the teacher to see what you are doing.
! Random Screen Check! may be called and you are expected to show what is on your screen at the moment. Also, you will be
asked to show what apps are on.
! Apps only prescribed by the teacher can be used in class. No other apps should be open unless otherwise indicated. Twitter and
iMessage are not allowed during the period.
! Recording of lectures and class discussions is not allowed. Also, taking pictures of notes on the board is not allowed.
! There will be sessions when the activity does not call for the use of iPads, such as giving of instructions, special lectures, etc. If
this is the case, all iPad units must turned over and faced down on top of the table. Hands-of your iPads. Give full attention to
what is being said or shown.
DURING WORK TIME...
! Mind your own iPad. Share with classmates only when you are instructed to do so.
! At work time, your iPads should be situated in such a way that the teacher can see what you are doing. This would allow the
teacher to monitor the activity and help students manage and maximize the work time given. Screen check! may also be
called to monitor activity.
! Give full attention to the learning tasks given. No other apps may be opened unless otherwise indicated.
! Refrain from any non-subject related activities (ex. changing of iPad settings, downloading apps, playing games, going to
social networking sites, checking game scores, doing assignments in other subjects, etc.). All network use/activity policies
apply when students are using Xavier computers.
! Ask 3 before me (Teacher).
! In case of problems or questions, call the teachers attention by raising your hand quietly.
! Remain in your seats and work only on your iPads unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
! During assessment activity, the WIFI must be turned of unless otherwise indicated. The use of earphones requires the explicit
approval of the teacher.
These guidelines are in accordance to Xavier Schools iPad Acceptable Use Policy .
Any violation pertinent to the guidelines above will be sanctioned accordingly.

by the following guidelines for the use of iPads in our class.
