Grade Students,

9
th
Grade is quickly approaching and we would like you to have some information that will be
helpful in your son or daughters transitioning to high school.

Orientation Dates

Student Orientation- 9
th
grade student orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28
th
,
from 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. The students will arrive by bus where staff and students will greet
them.

We will kick off the event in the auditorium. After the gathering, students will meet with their
I-Time teacher and receive their schedule and locker assignments. Students will then have a
chance to follow their daily schedule as well as attend an Activities Fair where they will be able
to mingle and ask questions or sign up to join at tables hosted by the various clubs and athletics
at SLPHS.

Parent Orientation-Parents are invited to Orientation on August 28
th
, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Auditorium. You will receive information about the 9
th
grade program and a copy of your childs
schedule. If you are interested in serving on the 9
th
Grade Parent Advisory Council email Angie

Bus Schedule
A copy of the Orientation day bus schedule is enclosed. This is the schedule that 9
th
graders
will be using on August 28
th
only, to attend Orientation, not their regular route for the school
year. Please make sure you are at the scheduled stop at the designated time on the morning of
Orientation.

If you are a Minneapolis student attending SLP Senior High through The Choice Is Yours
Program and need transportation to Orientation, please contact Eileen Lee at
952.928.6102 by August 21, 2012. If you do not call by this date, transportation cannot be
scheduled.

School ID Pictures
School ID pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 during the school day.
Announcements will be made during the day to inform students when to have their picture
taken.

For Those Unable to Attend
If your child is unable to attend the scheduled orientation, their schedules can be picked up on
the 1
st
day of school, September 3, 2013.
