Can Recycling Program
We have now raised $583.60 in recycling for the Broken Hill All
Breeds Obedience Dog Club! The can recycling program began in
July 2009- hosting all four ShowTime parties and bought the
whiteboard out of the obedience can recycling fund. Thank you and
please remember to keep recycling!

Blast from the Past
Trialling in the 1960s (the
first decade of our clubs
history), was similar to the
trialling we do today.
In the 60s, trials were held
both in Broken Hill at the
Hillside Sports ground and
interstate with many of our
members travelling to
Adelaide to trial.
Colleen outlines that the
goals, classes and requirements of
trialling fifty years ago was similar to
that of today and the participation
rates have remained at a fairly constant
level.
Due to the fact that these trials were
conducted almost fifty years ago, we
have limited photos and information. If
you have any photos or information,
feel free to contact us so we can
include it in our archive.

ShowTime (4) Party 2014
On Sunday, May 4
th
2014, the
obedience club held their
fourth ShowTime party for the
members of the club.
Approximately twenty people
attended the party which
coincided with the first
afternoon training session of
2014.
All classes trained as normal for the first half before we had pizza for
dinner. After dinner, the club enjoyed several games and activities
including the egg and spoon race which was won by Dean and the
fastest eater which was won by Danielle. The club also placed some
newly purchased rally-obedience equipment out for members and
their dogs to use at their pleasure.
The afternoon was a fantastic afternoon for the obedience club and
Id like to thank all
members and their families
for their attendance at the
party last month. All
members had a fantastic
afternoon and Id also like
to thank those who helped
organise the party and
served the pizza at dinner.

Graduation
Due to a reduced amount of training sessions in April, the graduation
was moved to the next month. Graduation for May will be held this
Sunday. Good luck to all those graduating and a complete list of
graduation will be published in Edition 109 of the BHABODC
Newsletter.

Demonstrations
The obedience club will be continuing their demonstrations
throughout the community in 2014. On Tuesday, May 13
th
, the club
held a demonstration at St Annes which gained overwhelming
success from both the club and the residents. The day was enjoyed
by all. The other scheduled demonstrations for 2014 are July 15th,
September 16th and October 21st. If you are interested in entering
your dog in a demonstration, have any queries or for more
information, please contact Colleen O'Brien at training each Sunday.
Alternatively, if you are a community group wishing for the club to
host a demonstration at one of your events, contact us through our
newsletter and we will discuss the idea at our monthly meeting.
