Introduction
Animal photography is a very honest form of
photography. It aims to capture the emotions and
personalities of different animals, to try and expose the
animals exactly as they are. There are different forms of
animal photography, which include: Pet photography

Pet Photography
Pet Photography can be broken down into two
categories; studio pet portraiture, and more fun
shots.
Studio pet portraiture is a more formal form of
pet photography.

Pet photography is used to portray expression of the
animals personality.
Using colour, vibrancy, and other techniques to
enhance the characteristic traits of individual animals.
Tips:
Dont try and get the animal to pose for you.
Let the subject do what it wants. It makes
the environment easier to work in, plus the
pictures are more interesting when
unexpected.
Make sure the animal is enjoying itself. This
will make for much better shots.
Keep the eyes of the animal in sharp focus,
as the eyes are very expressive. Get down on
the animals level if you have to, as this

Wildlife Photography
This genre captures animals in their natural environment, and
aims to portray them in a particular manner. This could be to
make them more appealing (often used in conservation work etc.)
- to the wider public, or to capture unusual moments which
demonstrate personality of the subject.

different angles that

uncommon/unusual
perspectives.
