General Targets
I can read books with simple dialogue

Targets about Solving Words
I can use the beginning and ending parts of a word to solve it
I can use vowel sounds to help solve words
I can use consonant and consonant clusters to solve words
I can recognize and use words parts to solve words while reading
I can use what is known about a word to solve it
I can take apart compound words to solve them
I use meaning, language structure and visual information to solve unknown
words
I can reread to search for information from language structures or
meaning to help me understand the words and story

Targets about Summarizing
I can recall and retell the important information or important events
from the story
