A song from ancient Egypt.

In the closing lines the blind musician urges the listeners to cling to the genial philosophy which the
Egyptians have always professed:
Spend a happy day. Rejoice in the sweetest perfumes. Adorn the neck and arms of your wife with
lotus flowers and keep your loved one seated always at your side. all no halt to music and the
dance! but bid all care be gone. Spare a thought for nothing but pleasure: for soon your turn will
come to journey to the land of silence.
