Dear To Whomever It May Concern, Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Evan DeVeny and I would like the opportunity to discuss the assets I possess which would make me a valuable member of your team. I have reviewed your mission statement, vision, and values. I share the belief that each patient deserves to receive the highest level of quality care possible that is effective both for the patient and the facility. I believe that this type of quality care starts in the community with primary intervention and client education. The healthcare industry is one of customer service and I believe this service begins with patient advocacy and all it includes.
I will be graduating from Auburn Universitys School of Nursing August 2014. My educational background has prepared me to be a registered nurse working at Archbold Memorial Hospital by molding me into a critically thinking, evidence-based practicing nurse with a focus on holistic care for my patient. Through this program, I have completed a total of 765 clinical hours which I have fulfilled on units such as CVICU, SICU, MSICU, ED, NICU and numerous community health care settings such as Twin Fountains West Georgia and Auburn Housing Authority. I also have completed 216 hours of preceptorship experience which was fulfilled at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee in the emergency department.
Since education is not the only quality that an exceptional nurse requires, in the duration of my college experience I have collected skills that are essential to teaching, communicating, and collaborating with various unique populations. The opportunity of working with wounded warriors in Project SERVE was vital to continuing my education of caring for cultures different than my own in a holistic manner. Additionally, my communication and teaching skills were developed through serving as an active member in a service sorority for 3 years where my responsibilities included contributing to the ethical committee for 2 years and to the constitutional committee for 3 years.
I feel I will be an asset to your team because I am dedicated to delivering personal, evidence- based, quality care to each patient that I serve. I believe that every patient should receive the utmost level of quality healthcare possible while maintaining a patient-client relationship built on mutual respect, trust, education, holistic, and excellent care.
I look forward to speaking with you and would like to set up a meeting to discuss my resume and skill-set.
