Unit 33: Solo Music Performance Skills Project Report P3 Describe the processes implemented in preparation for the performance of an extended programme of music. M3 Explain the processes implemented in preparation for the performance of an extended programme of music. D3 Evaluate the processes implemented in preparation for the performance of an extended programme of music. Compile a report of 1000-1500 words describing the process you have been through to prepare for your solo performance. Consider the following to help you:
How did you select your pieces. What factors did you need to consider when choos- ing? What difficulties did you face and how did you overcome them? Explain the rehearsal process from start to finish. Consider challenges you faced, feedback received, decisions you made, technical preparations (warm-ups, breathing control, techniques to aid concentration/nerves). How you organized rehearsal time with your accompanist/other musicians. Describe your personal practice routine. Personal critique on watching your mock-performance. What did you identify for im- provement? Venue/technical set-up. Where did the performance take place? What technical equipment did you need and who operated it? Personal critique of your performance in detail. Discuss each piece, how did you en- gage the audience, how did you communicate with the other musicians? What feed- back did you receive? What went wrong? What would you change? What you have learnt/gained from this experience? How did this differ to previous performances? Was it difficult being a soloist and performing for an extended period of time? How have your skills as a performer developed? What will take forward in- to future performances?
