CHAPTER IV

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter discusses the results on the module of earthquake. This

presents the development of the module, the developed module, the results of

evaluation by General Science Teachers from ICEHS- Hinaplanon, Kiwalan and

Santiago and the results of the Student-Teachers ratings about the module. At

the end of the chapter, the researchers also presented the comments and

suggestions of the evaluators about the modular approach in teaching

earthquake.

Development of the Module

The development of the module was organized based on the outline found

in Figure 1 of Chapter III.

Identification

On the identification process, the researchers identified the topic based on

the syllabus of the RBEC (Revised Basic Education Curriculum) and PSSLC

(Philippine Secondary School Learning Competencies) where science topics are

presented. They preferred to choose Earthquake as their topic in developing a

module since they found it as a very interesting topic. The researchers wanted to

develop an appropriate self-contained instructional material which will help the

students improve their capacity to learn and arouse their interest toward science.
