Access to all the worlds computers so as not to
be vulnerable to destruction (i.e. Internet)
Ability to understand natural language (i.e. IBMs
Watson)
Analogous ability to evolve through mutation
write its own computer code to solve problems,
creating an iterative problem-solving machine
that can grow at an exponential rate

Technical Challenges
Understanding of self-awareness is still in its
early stages
It is unclear at what point the spark from
non-life to life would occur
It is unclear what a superintelligence would
actually do given nearly unlimited power
