Some say the best things in life are free, but I don’t believe that is true

They say, “You can have free love, you can have a free phone,

But all I can say is “Whatever”

‘Cause I know everything has a cost

It took us some effort to get so messed up, and it won’t be so easy to bring back the lost

So again I’ll just say “Whatever”

Whatever happened to a goal worth reaching for?

And whatever happened to a cause worth dying for?

And whatever happened to a faith I could feel?

And whatever happened to a God who is real?

Wouldn’t it be great if the God of the universe could know me and love me in spite of myself

And wouldn’t it be great if He came to earth to show us how

To share His love right here, right now

And we could join in His purpose, His promise, His plan

Well He does and He did and we should and we can

If we simply believe that He is the only way, and that is a goal worth reaching for

And we simply believe that He is the only truth, and that is a cause worth dying for

And we simply believe that He is the only life

And that’s a faith I can feel and He’s a God who is real

A God I can know and a God I can serve and a God I can love for eternity

And that’s the best thing in life to me.
