Safety Improvements
Safer crossings Improved park access
Trafc calming Claried trafc movements
Beginning in late July, NYC DOT will be making improvements to the
Morningside Avenue corridor by:
Removing a lane in each direction and adding left turn lane as needed
Constructing pedestrian islands at W. 117th, W. 118th, W. 120th and W. 123rd Streets
Extending the northwest curb of Morningside and Hancock Place
Extending with color coating the northeast curb at Hancock Place and the southeast curb
at W. 126th Street
Adding a pedestrian signal and new crosswalk at W. 125th Street and Hancock Place
Implementation Starts late July
