My first formal yoga teacher in Bucharest was a man who was called Gregorian Bivolaru

nicknamed affectevely Grieg.

[]
In a certain way he was a mixture of political disident and a yogi and that's why his yoga had
very much on manipura, very... many people tell to me, somebody was telling to me yesterday,
when we see you in your lectures you come on on manipura very often and so on.
[]
Unfortunately, what none of us knew at that time was that this man with a lot of genius was a bit
of a mixture of a mad genius and doctor evil at the same time and specially as soon as
pressure started being exerted on him, he started having neurotic, abnormal reactions. The
first of them appeared as he came out of his prison term, of his first prison term, he was one year
and a half in prison and there he cohabited with all sorts of hardened criminals and it was like a
sort of academy of crime that he participated in during those years, so as soon as he came out of
the first term he started preaching this Robin Hood, Gurdjieff type, you know, like no tolerance
to stupidity, sell carpets, sell birds, paint them in red and sell them as parrots, whatever and you
can, push the envelope to whichever level, because you are a yogi, it's Kali Yuga, the whole world
is against you and therefore you are allowed to go to any extent, because you are on a mission
from God.
This chosen one type of mentality unfortunately did fit on some of his frustrations,
megalomania, psychosis, hysteria, whatever they were. I am not an expert in psychiatry
and psychology and I can not put a correct diagnosis on all of it, but it is among the things I just
mentioned and unfortunately from that time there was a point where this man started drifting
into aberrant behavior.

One last thing which needs to be said is that... because I am getting questions... even today...
even yesterday during my office hours... one of my interviewers was a person who approached
me frontally and directly about this... many people want to know to which extent do I keep
connections with my old teachers and specially with this one who has became a bit of a renegade
of yoga, maybe you don't know, but in this school, if anybody comes and has any connection
with or has had any connections with that Romanian yoga school in which that ex teacher of
mine was activating...now he is hiding from the police in some mysterious place...We
actually...people who have that...have to sign a paper like they are even not allowed to join our
lectures or conferences unless they sign a paper either that they give up completely any
connection to that kind of yoga or if not we are not interested even in talking to them or seeing
them around. This is our attitude. Not only that we don't have any connection. We actually
consider that that kind of yoga ilustrated by MISA...it is the name of the Romanian...MISA is the
Romanian schools name and all its subsidiaries...has become a sort of parachristian weird sect
in which there are accusations of human trafficking, prostitution, money laundering and many,
many other weird things, which are supposed to be part of the Robin Hood-ism of yoga of those
people. I personally, Claudiu as well, my friend, and many others who had any contact, we
profoundly disagree and think it is misguided... an it is an example, a typical example of misuse
and failure in the west, of yoga misunderstanding of it...and that is why again not only that we
don't have either personal spiritual or administrative relashionship with that, on the contrary,
we tell to people stay away from those people as from fire, because they can be
charismatic, they can be...you know...and then you will say, oh, they also do the shoulder stand
and focus on Vishuddha Chakra, that's kind of like what I do and then you can find yourselves in
rings of money laundering or prostitution or other things and you don't know how you got there.
And that is why remember that unfortunately that thing is catalogued as a sect, as a cult,
it is unfortunately unfolding well-known criminal activities, well-known and
despicable ones...if it would be just tax evasion like Rajneesh was accused of tax evasion and
he said the Buddhas don't have to pay taxes. That is a bit of Robin Hood-ism or a kind of
adventure-ism of yoga. You can laugh at it and say, you know, maybe in a certain way he is right,
but there is one way to be like that and it's another way when you go into forms of
criminality, which are despicable and over the top and...and unfortunately that's an
organisation which is under the more or less clear guidance of a person who is
suspected to have gone mentally ill, mentally disturbed.
[]
And we try to keep it at that way, that's why for years I avoided talking about this and even now I
do it with great reluctance because it makes me, it puts me in the situation to stand up and say
bad things about one of my ex-teachers and I don't wish to do that, but given the circumstances
if some of you is asking me, oh, I am living in Berlin and I heard that in Berlin there is a chapter
(?) of your ex-teacher, maybe I can associate with them or something like this, I will have to tell
you then, be careful, those people are a cult, they are run by a person who is
mentally ill, profoundly, and you are putting yourself into great trouble. (surs :
