03 - Sharing is Caring
Hey Ram, whats up? Are you ready for the party at my
house tonight? I am so excited.
Yeah, I cant wait either. Im looking forward to playing games
and eating lots of junk food..
I know. My mom is making popcorn for everybody. Thats
one of my favorite foods.
My mom is making chocolate chip cookies.
(Rubbing his belly) Yum! I love chocolate chip cookies.
(In a rude manner) Not as much as I do! Youre not getting
any. Theyre my favorite and I plan on eating all of them
myself.
Arent you going to share your cookies?
Are you kidding? My mom hardly makes them for me. She
says theyre too sweet. But tonight, she wont be there to
stop me and all the cookies will be mine! All mine!
We learned in our Pthashl class that we should share
what we have with others. Thats why were all making
something - to share with each other.
Who cares about sharing? If I bring them, I am going to eat
all of them.
Okay, suit yourself.
(Both leave)

uketu is having a party and each child has decided to bring their favorite
food. Ram loves chocolate chip cookies but his mother makes them
occassionally because they have a lot of sugar in them. Hence, Ram
decides he is not going to share - he will eat them all by himself. What do
you think happens to Ram after eating a whole plate of cookies! What does
Suketu do?

(At the party, Ram walks in carrying a plate of cookies)
Hey, Ram. Why dont you put the cookies on the snack
table?
Okay.
(Instead Ram walks past the table, sits in a corner and eats
all the cookies.)
(After the party)
The party was a blast. Did you have a good time?
(Head hanging very low) No. Ohh, I feel terrible! And I mean
terrible.
Whats wrong with you?
(Clutching his stomach) My stomach is killing me. It hurts
so badly.
Should I call your mom?
No, Suketu! Dont call my mom. Ill get in trouble.
Why would you be in trouble?
Because I was told to share the cookies, and I didnt. I ate
all those cookies myself.
Why didnt you think of sharing before? Then you wouldnt
have eaten all those cookies and would not have a
stomachache either?
(Guiltily) I was selfsh and didnt want anyone else to have
any.
You should always share with other people and not be so
selfsh.
You got that right....Ohh, I think I am going to die. My stomach
is killing me.
Have you learned your lesson now?
Yes, I will share things for the rest of my life. I will be fair
and this wont ever happen again. I promise to do what is
right, SHARE.
I will be helpful and share with you too, Ram. In fact, I will
do that right now.
