Bailey, a pleasure horse owned by Vicki, was evaluated for hoof issues. Upon examination, Bailey was found to be overweight and suffer from sweet itch. His hooves showed considerable contraction of the heels, an elongated toe, and thrush in the frogs. The farrier removed his shoes, revealing cracked quarters and lack of internal soft tissue. His heels were low and frogs bruised. The evaluation scored his usability a 3, suitable for light riding only. Treatments of Milton and sudocream were recommended.
