Sketch the beam bending diagrams of the frames shown in pictures directly into
the paper as neatly as possible. Then use finite element program FEM! to obtain
the same results. The tutorial for beam bending problems should be ade"uate for
first time users to obtain the results using FEM!. #eport the results and include
the e$ercise paper with your own beam bending diagrams. %o not correct your
own sketches based on the results from finite element program as those sketches
do not affect the grading of the e$ercise.
&ou can use your own dimensions in frames and in beam profiles but use rational
'alues( i.e. beam profile height should be appr. )*)+ of the beam length. Material
can be steel, modulus of elasticity E - .)+ +++ M!a. #eport the initial 'alues
clearly in your report.
