Generalist Nursing Practice

My assignment on obesity in Oceana County related to a different patient population that
I did not have as much experience with. This project focused on the issues surrounding a high
rate of obesity in a specific area and how to solve this by providing information on resources
available. The project caused me to research a new group of patients to determine how to
provide them with resources so they may live a higher quality of life with safer lifestyle choices.
I was able to expand my knowledge of generalist nursing practice to include community nursing
and a population that was not part of my every day practice. This allowed me to connect
awareness to my own practice and ways I could do the same for my specialty.
