question about a grade, please speak to me at the end of class rather than in the
middle of instruction. You may also email me with any concerns and I will do my best
to respond as soon as possible.

HOMEWORK POLICY: When assigned, homework will be due at the beginning of the
period. Homework must be completed at home; students will not receive credit for
homework done during class.

LATE WORK POLICY: I do NOT accept late work. It is due when it is due! If there are
extenuating circumstances, consideration may be given for partial credit up to one
week after the assignment was due.

TARDY POLICY: Arlington High School has a strict tardy policy. Students must be in the
classroom when the tardy bell rings. The following will be the policy for tardiness:
1
st
tardy- Verbal warning
2
nd
tardy- Detention
3
rd
tardy- 2
nd
Detention
4
th
tardy- Office referral

ABSENCES/MAKE-UP WORK: It is very important for students to be at school each day.
There are classwork activities and discussions that cannot be made up. However, in
the event you must be absent, it is YOUR responsibility to collect any missed
assignments/materials from another student and to schedule any necessary make-up
assignments.

You will have one day per day absent to make-up any work, excluding the day
you return.

A zero will be entered for any assignments during your absence so that you
have an accurate picture of your grade at all times.

If your make-up time passes and you have not completed the work, you will
receive a zero for the assignment.

I do NOT accept late make-up work.
Any work that was assigned before your absence is due on the day you return.
This includes scheduled quizzes and tests.

ACADEMIC HONESTY: I expect all students to uphold the highest standards of
truthfulness and integrity within their work. Students will not receive or give aid to
another student on an assignment. Students will not copy or allow to be copied any
homework or other assignment. Any student involved in the aforementioned activities,
regardless of role, will receive a grade of zero for the assignment. In addition, the use
of online translators is considered cheating.

Parent Contact: Student success is based on a strong relationship between teacher,
student, and parent. Please have your parents email me at
matthew.northgrave@acsk-12.org to let me know their most frequently used email. If
they are tech-savvy, they may use the QR code at the bottom to fill out this
information.

I look forward to working with you this year and hope that you
will enjoy learning Spanish in my class.
