1. The attention of the Contractor is drawn to Code of Practice on Demolition;
SSCP 11; 1980. All relevant stipulations and requirement is the code shall be complied with. 2. Before any work of demolition, the Contractor shall conduct a detailed survey and examination of the building and the adjoining buildings. Photographs shall be taken, particularly where existing cracks and settlements are visible. 3. The Contractor is to ensure all mains and services are diverted, removed, plugged or cut off before commencement. 4. The Contractor required to appoint a competent foreman experienced in this type of work. The foreman shall be report to the Engineer and be responsible for the proper control and supervision of works. 5. The Contractor shall submit a programme in which the sequence of operation is clearly indicated. The method of demolition should be clarified with the Engineer. 6. The contractor is required to submit a lists of plants and equipment he proposed to use. The prior approval of Engineer is necessary before such plants and equipment are brought to site. 7. All safety measures are to submitted and approved by Engineer. 8. The pulling down, dismantling, etc to be executed with due caution and in such a manner as to cause no rick or damage to persons or property. No approval by the Engineer of any shoring, supports, etc will relieve the Contractor to his responsible and/or liabilities under the Contract. 9. The demolition work should be periodically sprayed with the water to reduce the amount of dust. The Contractor shall provide all necessary dust sheets and temporary screen necessary to prevent the circulation of dust etc. All debris are to be removed daily. 10. Noise should be minimized as far as possible in particular by limiting the use of compressors and the other plants to reasonable hours ie. between 9.00am to 6.00pm. 11. Except treasure trove, coins object of antiquity or interest which shall be the Employers property, other materials and good arising from the demolition works shall become the property of the Contractor, and due credit to the employer shall be allowed in his tender for the value of all such material and good.
