Program/Product failure- MAD in India which aired on Star plus, 2 months back
Introduction-
Star Plus launched a comedy show, MAD in India with Sunil Grover, few months
back to compete with already famous, Comedy nights with Kapil, which airs on
Colors TV on weekends.
The show was launched with much hype and promotion but failed to create any
impact on the Audience.
We will be the discussing the reasons why it failed pathetically-
Perceptions, Beliefs and Attitude-
1. Gutthi (Sunil Grover) made an exit from Comedy Nights with Kapil. Due to
this Gutthi connection, audiences directly compared the show with
Comedy Nights with Kapil.
2. Now that people had earlier enjoyed Gutthi in Comedy Nights with Kapil,
they were expecting more of it in Mad In India, which somewhere lacked in
the format.
Personalities, Lifestyle and Self Concept-

1. Casting of the show wasnt effective enough to impress and attract
audience. (eg. Host, lack of leadership by stand up Comedians, lame and
not-so-funny jokes, talentless artists)
2. Lack of Interest shown by celebrities.
3. Low morale of the artists on the show: Constant negative headlines and
not so appealing responses from the audience might have been the
reason for the low morale of the artists working on the show. If noticed,
the number of actors on the show has gone down as compared to the
artists present on the show launch.

Remedies according to consumer behavior which would boost the show

1. The consumer had already seen sunil in gutthi role but in other show if
he had done any other Character innovation for Mad in India.
2. If it was his show then he should be the leader and should drive the
show .
3. Manish paul as an anchor was very lame and irritating which
Made the show cult.
4. Content was related to CNWK which should be innovated
