The typical Panamanian diet is too high in saturated fat, sodium, and sugar and too low in fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, calcium, and fiber. Such a diet contributes to the most common causes of death and increases the risk of
cancers. Unhealthy eating and physical inactivity are major contributors to reduced quality of life and disabilities in
Panamanian people. mputations and blindness can be complications of diet!relates diabetes and people who have
had a stroke or an osteoporosis!related hip fracture may suffer loss of independence.
Students will carry out this Project by several activities such as" #dentifying healthy and unhealthy things in a given
picture, analy$e a picture about a couch potato, match some health problems to some recommendations, make
some comments about a video, prepare and present an oral report about what a person should and shouldn%t to do
to keep healthy.
The activities mentioned above, will guide students to answer questions like the following" &ow can we keep
