Eaglecrest Photography Class Contract

SAFETY
Your student is enrolled in the EHS Photography Class. This is an artistic, yet technical class that requires a level of
maturity and independence. There are a number of chemicals and equipment that require a particular attention to
safety. Along with this, student are allowed outside during class-time to photograph. They are expected to stay on task
and remain on school property. Respecting and honoring safety in this class is an integral component to the success of
your student and their classmates. Because of this I am asking all students and their guardians to sign a safety contract.
By signing this, it is agreed that the rules set forth in class will be followed and the students best discretion will be used
while in this class. Your student will not be able to participate in any activity until this agreement is signed. Also, I want
to stipulate that if for any reason your child chooses not to follow the safety codes established in the classroom, they
will not be able to complete the course, and could potentially be removed from the class.

CAMERA
As a part of the Eaglecrest High School photo class, students are required to photograph using a S.L.R. (single lens reflex)
film camera with manual settings. Even though the art department does have a small number of these cameras
available for students who do not have access to one of their own, there are not enough for every student. Please check
your attic, basement or see if one of your relatives has one that your student may use for the semester. The cameras
available here at school have a limited check out period and may only be used during class time; therefore your child will
be at an advantage if they supply their own camera.
_____ My child has a S.L.R. camera they will use for the semester and will NOT need to use an art department camera.
_____ Unfortunately, my child does not have access to a S.L.R. camera and will need to borrow one from the art
department for the semester. I understand that the replacement value is $250 if the camera is damaged or lost.

By signing this contract I have read and understand the responsibilities of this course. I also understand that I am
responsible for all equipment/ materials used in this course, and that fines will apply to broken or damaged items.
