ABSTRACT

!anagement "nformation System #!"S$ provides information for the managerial activities in an
organi%ation. &he main purpose of this research is to provide accurate information necessary to
facilitate the decision'ma(ing process and ena)le the organi%ations planning, control, and
operational functions to )e carried out effectively. !anagement "nformation System #!"S$ is
)asically concerned *ith processing data into information and is then communicated to the
various Departments in an organi%ation for appropriate decision'ma(ing. Decision support
system #DSS$ is a *ell'esta)lished research and development area in. &he information system is
the mechanism to ensure that information is availa)le to the managers in the form they *ant it
and *hen they need it. &raditional isolated, stand'alone DSS has )een recently facing ne*
challenges in order to improve the performance of DSS. &he focus of the paper is on the
integration aspect for DSS *ith !"S through multiple perspectives, and the technologies that
support this integration.
