Rediscover balance in your playing with the Equilibrio chin rest
series, designed to enhance performance and improve com-
fort.
The Equilibrio system is the distillation of an intensive five year study at the Utrecht School of
the Arts in the Netherlands. The research project, involving a team of students and teachers
at the conservatory, led to this design by Servaas Franssen. Four chin rests of varying heights
and contours, each with accompanying corks for raising or slanting the chin rests, provide
more than sixteen different chin rest options.

The Equilibrio chin rest series provides a large number of choices for individual musicians of all
sizes and builds, reflecting the true range of players in the profession. Equilibrio chin rests can
be purchased individually, or as an entire series, especially handy for violin and viola teachers.
Special design features improve both stability and
mobility, providing the support necessary for the instru-
ment while leaving the musician free to move and play.
The contour is adjusted at each height to allow for the
best placement of the instrument for bowing and fin-
gering, whatever the size of the player. A curved sur-
face keeps the throat free from pressure and rubbing.
Sound improves as the violin comes to rest on the col-
lar bone, adding bone resonance to the natural reso-
nance of the violin
