This document summarizes the specifications of SCM440 alloy steel, including its chemical composition, characteristics, heat treatment process, mechanical properties, hardenability curve, and availability. SCM440 alloy steel has better tensile strength and elongation than chromium steels. It combines chromium and molybdenum for high hardenability and resistance to tempering softening. Common applications include gear shafts, screws, winches, and nuts.
