Kindergarten Weekly Homework

Week 8
Please make homework part of your nightly routine! Read the directions out-loud to your child and
assist them as needed to complete the activities. Please make sure that your child is using
developmental spelling to complete the work. Complete all the activities in their homework journal.
Encourage your child to focus on the activities for that evening only. In addition, please
remember to read 15-20 minutes with your child and fill out the reading log. Have fun!

Monday
Language Arts:
Write your name five times. Make sure to use an
uppercase letter at the beginning of your name!

Go on a sound hunt in your house for things that
begin with /w/ and /p/. Draw and label 3 things
that begin with each letter sound.

Math:
Write numbers 1-10

Hunt for 7 of the same objects in your house.
Draw the objects and number them. Ex: 7

Tuesday
Language Arts:
Have your child look at the following pictures.
Discuss the name of the picture. Ask your child
what sound they hear at the beginning of the
word. Ex: hat= h
Draw the picture in your homework journal and
write the sound next to it.

Math:
Copy the picture below in your journal and
answer the questions in the homework
journal by counting the objects.

Thursday

Social studies & Language Arts:
Draw a picture of your favorite place in your
community. (Label your picture with the
beginning sound) Ex: school= s bank= b

Math:
Copy the picture of the five frame below in
your homework journal and answer the
question by counting.

How many squares are full?
How many squares are empty?


Friday
Turn in your homework.
