Re:Vacancy No.CPPSCR0728 Probation Officer, Hawkes Bay.

I am interested in the above advertised position and believe I

maintain the required competencies. Currently I am self employed as a shareholder with Napier
Taxis, a position requiring excellent communication and relationship skills, cultural
responsiveness, awareness and sensitivity to all people. On occasions I have had to calmly defuse
people with mood swings, particularly at night. Communication is important role in human
interaction on all levels. Being well travelled I respect all cultures and creeds which create the
diversity of our world.
I have self management planning and organisational attributes used in my current
and previous employment roles. An example / as a Painter: Quoting, planning, organising
product and equipment, attention to detail and subsequent payment. As Graffiti Contracts
Manager I also utilised these skills as well as communicating with staff, management and
council liason. My experience in problem solving falls within the realm of all aspects of my life
as nothing always runs smoothly. Once a problem is acknowledged the alternatives are
evaluated, as are the short and long term consequences, leading to an action plan I undertook
such a procedure when leaving Painting to buy into the Taxi industry.

Adaptability and resilience are key factors within my personality and I am able to
read an environment and act accordingly. These factors are essential for any position dealing
with people.
My written communication skills are accurate with attention to detail, as are my
oral skills when in conversation. I always make an effort to maintain error free communication. I
am computer literate and aware of the advantages of modern technology.
If selected for this position I would welcome the challenge and believe it would
be an interesting and rewarding role enabling me to complete tasks to the best of my ability.
