Which Word Processing software will you be using at school?
The word processing software that we use at school is Microsoft Word 2013. Microsoft word is the most used word processing software.
What are some features of a Word Processor? Some features of a word processor are the ability to create, store, print, type, edit, insert graphic and save documents easily.
Identify the parts of Microsoft Word screen and understand what is on each of the menus: Home includes different font sizes, styles, and colors, it also includes the ability to paste, cut and copy.
1) Insert includes the ability to insert pictures, a table, charts, shapes and new pages. It also allows you to insert online videos, text boxes, equations and symbols.
2) Design allows you to change the style of the text, add a page boarder and add page color and watermarks.
3) Page Layout includes the option to change the position of an image and change the orientation.
4) References enables you to insert citations and captions. Mailings allows you to change the theme of the document to an envelope, label or greetings.
5) Review helps check spelling and grammar. Translate and track changes. View enables you to arrange, split and switch windows. Keyboard Techniques
The keyboard offers many time saving techniques in moving around the document. What happens when you press:
the Enter key? it creates a space between each paragraph.
the Home key? The home key takes you to the beginning of the document
the Delete key? The delete key discards the character ahead of the cursor's position, moving all following characters one position "back" towards the freed letterspace.
the Backspace key? The backspace key deletes a letter or the selected amount of letters.
the End key? When the key is pressed, the window scrolls to the bottom.
the Page Up key? Page up will allow the document to move either upwards or rightwards.
