Expressions of interest are invited from educators for fully-funded teacher scholarships in a one year, part-time Graduate Certificate in Teaching Asia program for permanent employees of the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
The Graduate Certificate in Teaching Asia program will commence in Semester 1, 2014 and will conclude in Semester 2, 2014. Funding will be provided for successful recipients to undertake four courses of study to complete a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Asia. Course details are:
Semester 1: 1. Societies in Asia 2. Language in Asia
Semester 2: 1. Asia and the World 2. Teaching Asia

It is anticipated that successful candidates will be able to complete their studies using a combination of video-conferencing facilities at their school and online tutorials. Face-to-face tuition is available for those candidates who live near the Australian National University.
The cohort of successful candidates will participate in two intensive seminars in Sydney. Travel and accommodation will be funded on a needs basis using NSW Department of Education and Communities guidelines.

permanent teacher of a NSW public school who has been employed as a teacher for a minimum of two years primary school teacher or secondary school teacher of Creative Arts, English, Languages or HSIE graduate of a recognised tertiary education program at Bachelor level or equivalent able to participate in the whole program and complete the course able to teach in a NSW public school for a minimum of three years after completing the Graduate Certificate how the course of study will improve student learning outcomes evidence of the candidates willingness and ability to share professional learning gained from the scholarship Principals endorsement. How to submit an application Complete the scholarship application form and the principal endorsement form. Attach your supporting statement which should clearly and succinctly establish your eligibility and address each of the selection criteria above. Please limit the supporting statement to a maximum of two pages.
