Abstract

Introducti on
College or university is defined as a place were people attend after de age of 16 to
acquire knowledge and skills [1].
This with the purpose of getting a degree so they can achieve for a better future even
if job opportunities are not Sure thing with or with out a degree, because By
comparison, the holder of a bachelors degree has an average starting salary of $45,000[2] .
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of
disease or infirmity. [3] as defined by the WHO (world health organization) this includes
also mental illness as well likes stress , depression and anxiety which they interfere
more with the student experience [4].
Being a student doing a major , keeping up with yours , your parents and a companys
(future work ) expectations become a big weight over the student which starts
affecting , tiring them down stressing them out and provoking health problems
,ending in flunked curses or drop outs .
Stress is a normal a is part of life experiences and sometimes it helps achieve goals , it
also can interferer with your daily life, preventing a normal attitude . this can be
defined as the non-specific response of the body to any demand for change( Selye 1936).

Students life
College life might seem quite fun and relaxing
as seen on the movies , but it can be also a lot of
hard work and with very little time for your self
.
A normal day in students life can go from
waking up early at 6 to get to your 7 am class
then quick lunch to get to another class or to do
some lab work and have class till 2 or 3 in the
afternoon but sadly the day doesnt end there
then it comes extra curricular activities such as
more classes extra subjects or team work
groups or research time in the library . Which

can take the entire day .
College might involve a lot of research either in a computer , books or life data
accumulation for papers or homeworks which means sedentarism , so we have
problems at every corner at mental level because all the stress they put to them self
and a fiscal because the lack of exercise .

Is there such thi ng as over studyi ng?
Its good and necessary to excel and achieve highest standard in all either in a
homework or the final test but not to the point to put our self in danger .
In a world were success is everything is silly to thing doing something to much is bad
the truth is something else a balance between study commitments, recreation, fun
and free time is absolutely essential for a person to avoid burning out .[5] .
Because like everything theres a limit and break point that could be irreversible , you
can bend a metal so much or pull a rubber so far[6].
how do you know?
Are you concentrating, do you need to read several times the same page
Get annoyed for doing silly mistakes
Do you feel tired much
Cant sleep because of many brain activity

So theres is so much a brain and a person can study or
do till blocking it self and needs rest
when we dont get or achieved our goal is we get
stressed and worried afraid of the out come and the
disappointment we think might create in others like our
parents , creating in our self a lot of pressure and stress.
Stress is reported of being of one causes of negative
impact in students performance[7]. Other stress related
with other dieses such as heart attacks, stroke, kidney
disease and rheumatoid arthritis[8].

How to prevent it
as said before stress is a normal part of life either in or outside of a collage so we must
have to learn to deal with it so it wont affect us and use it as motivator, and avoid
being part of the statistics since the American College Health Association (ACHA)
10888 students commit suicide every year [9].
A balance between studying and taking time for your self is very important because
other wise theres is the possibility of exhausting yourself in which case means a
decrease of consecration and productivity .
Things than can be done are easy, it can go from just taking a little time away for
your studies and relaxing, to doing some sports sleeping the recommended 7-8
hours or hanging out responsibly with friends doing something fun or simple doing

nothing for a couple of minutes can help with stress managing and keeping it in
check.
Other activities are meditation which helps move your state of mind from agitated
to calm and steady, also When practicing meditation,
your heart rate and breathing slow down, your blood
pressure normalizes, you use oxygen more efficiently, and
you sweat less. Your adrenal glands produce less cortisol,
your mind ages at a slower rate, and your immune
function improves. Your mind also clears and your
creativity increases [10]

Conclusion

Collage is a very important part in everyone life either for the knowledge and skills
one acquires and for the people you meet and thats why it should take it with the
responsibility and the enthusiasm for a brighter future .
Non the less must have in mind that the participants are people and every one is
different with its limits and should take them in consideration , all must be taken in a
moderate also studying .
