Math Minute
Our Scholars are currently exploring
Number Sense. Students are
beginning to understand the
relationships between fractions and
decimals, and that these are all
expressions of DIVISION! Please
continue to support your Scholar by
making sure that they have
MASTERED their multiplication tables!

Literacy
1. Students recieve a weekly
homework log that lists the
homework for the week. The log
requires a parent signature each night
to ensure that families are aware of
what skills, ideas, and concepts 6th
grade scholars will be practicing each
week.

2. Our first Reading Response
Project Due Date is fast
approaching. This project is due on
Friday, October 17, 2014. Your
scholar has been responsible for
reading and responding to a variety
of grade appropriate texts each day.
Please visit our 6th grade weebly
under the langauge arts tab for more
details about the requirements for the
project.

3. We are incorporating two
powerful communication tools this
year to help parents stay in the
loop with school happenings. If you
have not already done so, please sign
up for Class Dojo and Remind.
These messages go directly to your
phone text message, tablet or
computer. Visit our weebly to learn
how to sign up for both.

Science Corner
Our Eagle Scientists are observing,
inferring, predicting, measuring,
classifying and designing
experiments to understand the
problems and questions of the
world around them. We will focus
on Atoms and Elements, Physical
Properties of Matter before dive
into Forces and Motion!
Social Studies Adventures
We are looking at the world
around us as geographers.
Students have learned more about
Charlotte through the 5 Themes of
Geography. They have begun to
have a spatial understanding of
their surroundings by creating
maps. They are analyzing the
effects of Earths physical features
are having on human communities
and vice versa. Soon we will be
learning how to think and operate
like anthropologists,historians, and
