TASKS
Collect and record information about arrested suspects, like fingerprints,
height and weight measurements, and photographs.
Do undercover assignments and maintain good surveillance, including
watching authorized wiretaps.
Compare crime scene fingerprints with suspects or fingerprint files to identify
perpetrators, using computers.
WAGES
Depending on the persons education and experience the entry level pay for
an Immigration Enforcement Agent is either at the GL-5 or GL-7 level. GL-5
entry level pay is about $36,000 a year. GL-7 is about $42,000 a year. After
one year they automatically go to the next pay level up to GL-9. After one
year GL-5 would go to GL-7. The next year a GL-7 will go to a GL-9. In
addition most areas earn extra money in locality pay.
