Population Growth
1) There were 7 seeds in the pea I started with.
2) There were 16,807 peas alive in my pea population after 5 generations.
3) The graph shows 5 generations of the pea population. I started with one pea that produced
7 seeds. Each year the number of plants grown is multiplied by the number of seeds that
were in the first plant. That is shown in the chart below.

4) Environmental Factors
a. Temperature
b. Sunlight
c. Water in Soil
d. Parasites
e. Predators
5) If the pea population was subjected to some of these environmental factors I would
expect there to be change in the population. The population I calculated was based on no
plants dying. All the factors I have listed could have an effect on the pea population. In
order for the peas to grow healthy they have to have the right amount of sunlight to grow.
If the temperature becomes too cold it can freeze the plant and kill it. If the plant doesnt
get enough water, if parasites take
over or predators eat the plant all
those factors could potentially lead
to deaths of some plants that in
turn affect the number of plants
grown through the 5 generations.
