Chin strap makes electricity from chewing

Brief Summary: Canadian scientist have invented a chin strap that can conduct
electricity from chewing. The strap is composed of a smart material that becomes
electrically charged when stretched. With a few minutes of moving the jaw via
chewing a smart strap can produce approximately 18 microwatts of power, which
isnt even enough to power something such as minuscule as a hearing aid. Though
scientist claim that by layering this smart highly conductible material into a more
modern and efficient accessory one day consumers will be able to power small
gadgets. They provided examples of a daily commuter charging a wireless Bluetooth
while biking to work or military application of a solider charging his communication
headpiece while miles away from the nearest electrically source.

Additional Sources:
Key words: Chewing, Electricity, Smart Material
Search engines: Google and Yahoo
Results: Overall both search engines deemed recommendable they both gave me
results of the initial article I found, but in addition they provided me with websites
directly related to the topic. Google did however provide images along with links to
Related to the topic; Yahoo solely provided links.

TRAAP source: Chinstrap harvests chewing energy for hearing aids
Time written: September 17, 2014, no updates due to being extremely recent
Relevance: Strongly relates to my topic, pretty much same article just written
differently due to different author
Authority: There is no direct author provided; therefore their qualification is
unknown
Accuracy: This information is for the most part trust worthy due to it being posted
on many recommended websites such as BBC or Science daily. Although the article I
am evaluating does not have a stated author many of the related articles provided
author such as Jonathan Webb who is very qualified to write about a technological
innovation such as this due to PhD in neuroscience at Oxford and continued studies
in molecular biology, science history and linguistics.
Purpose: The purpose of the article is to inform the general public of this new
invention that could soon revolutionize or hinder the market of mobile charging
devices. Yes, there is bias in the material due to authors feelings that a invention like
this seems more primitive than solar powered charging devices due to the need of
man to power it.

Scholarly Journals: Cloth Fibers that Generate Electricity and Wearable technology
for snow clothing

Keywords: Green human energy, electricity, and clothing
Databases: Proquest (scholarly journals) and Science Direct
Database used: I prefer the Proquest database over the Science Direct due to its
easily readable array of results and keyword powered search engine that helps
narrow down results.

Comparison of Internet and journal articles:
Ease of access: The Internet articles deemed to be more easily accessible due to not
having to sign in with a college id and password to access the search engine such in
the case of the scholarly journals.
Timeliness: The Internet articles are more recent and up to date than the scholarly
journals and can be accessed quicker.
Authority: The authors are stated more in the scholarly journals and posses a more
renowned reputation then of the authors of the internet articles.
