(major landforms and bodies of water that would be found in certain Geographical regions). Websites that
will be provided:

regions)
http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Canada-georegion-click.html (Major Regions Interactive game)

of Canada by exploring and reflecting upon the following questions and issues: What are the

2.1 access and retrieve appropriate information from the Internet by using a specific search path or from
given uniform resource locations (URLs)
2.2 organize information gathered from the Internet, or an electronic source, by selecting and recording
the data in logical files or categories; and by communicating effectively, through appropriate forms,

Rationale for Computer Integration:
Through using the online information sources the students are allowed to interact with the information in
their given topic in a variety of ways. Videos, images, interactive maps, quizzes, and games allow the
students more than one way of taking in the information to then use in their presentation on their topic.
This allows for better connection and interactivity with the information over a straight text or verbal
application of the material.

Search strategies: Used search terms in variation without quotations: Social studies, Canadian
geography, grade 5, online activities. Looked within sites to find more valuable links to online resources.
