Ejim, Esther, and Kaci Lane Hindman. "What Is The Effect Of Fashion On Body Image?"
WiseGeek. Conjecture, 26 Sept. 2014. Web. 06 Oct. 2014.

This article explains the impact on fashion on body image is slightly a complicated issue, made
so by several factors. Fashion plays an important role in society because it has come to define
people in a lot of ways, but unfortunately it has some negative consequences on the perception of
body image. For instance, in western societies today, the fashion industry projects the image of
thin, beautiful people that have been airbrushed to perfection as the ideal way to look.

My source is reliable source because it is factual and it gives specific key points on the message
often perceived by people. The fact of the matter is that many members of society dont often
look ideal which means the modelers look at it very seriously. It is objective because it
influenced the impracticable look on women and the desperate change. One of the major impacts
that affected the industry tremendously is that people may resort to drastic surgery to fix features
that they considered to fall short of the accepted standard.

This product is a great source for my research because it conditions the looks and attempts to
conform the accepted fashionable look. It surrounds factors like the right accessories, best places
to go and the adequate mannerisms. The message is often stated that people constantly barraged
by such messages is that this is the right way to look.

Body Image of Women." RSS 20. Mirror-Mirror, n.d. Web. 25 Sept. 2014.

This article explains negative body image of women is a very risky topic that is being consulted
of today. The female image and what a person should or could look in marketing and advertising
in a particular used in a controversial issue. Marketers will often do anything that they can to sell
a product and make a profit for it. There are certainly some very direct messages associated with
body weight and its images on celebrities, show hosts and often role models. Their body weight
and appearance demonstrates what it is to be successful and popular.

This article is a reliable source because its factual and up to date. This is something that comes
up a lot in fashion magazines, clothing, catalogs and pop up culture shows. It is objective
because of the image of women throughout the media and genetic factors. Eating disorders are
often, though not always and not directly related to negative body image.

My product is a great source for a research because it provides information about womens
weight and how it can be produced on TV. It indicates that beauty sells that are somewhat a
problem when the media produce unattainable images for women. The information has not
changed my opinion on the effects of a negative body image of women.

Polk, Jacqueline. "Unrealistic Body Image in the Fashion Industry the Average Woman in
America Is a Size 14, Not a Size 2." Fashion N' Motion. Campus Labs, 24 Oct. 2012.
Web. 25 Sept. 2014.
This article explains the support images that discriminate against the average American women.
It is a known fact that an average women is a size 14 but however, a large impact on the fashion
industry is fueled by the concepts of beauty and the size. The images of skinny models are
presented to the American eye and the next trend. It is only recently that the controversy
surrounding the fashion industry has come to the forefront when in 2008 at Madrid Fashion.

This document is a reliable source because it is very informative on how others view the fashion
industry and how many changes as far as body image is concerned. Media is regular commodity
in the lives of men and women, and the fashion industry is presented in television
advertisements, fashion shows and fashion magazines but also there is a lack of variation in
shape and size. It is objective because of the data that is produced from year to year. This
triggers to the images that are displayed of what beauty is and the ideal body image.
This material is a great source for what Im researching because it provides the diversity of
modeling and when pressured on beauty remedies. It also indicates that in the article, Fashion
Magazines Daily Unrealistic Body Image, Cassie Schmidt says that the average women in the
US is 5-foot-4 and weighs 140 pounds. It is highly promoted that the fashion industry isnt really
for most women in America.

T, Tyrant. "The Role of Social Media on Body Image & Body Stereotypes (with Images, Tweets)
Tyrant." Storify. E. Barites C, 29 Mar. 2012. Web. 06 Oct. 2014.
This article explains body image directly correlates with how one seems themselves, when
women look in the mirror that they have a tendency to criticize specific parts of the body. Within
this research are prime example causes and effects of body image as well as ways of women are
fighting back to make a change in the fashion industry.
This product is a reliable source because its still in effect today and the image is still a problem.
Since social networking has been introduced it has made it easier for advertisements containing
beauty to be viewed more frequently. It is objective because it plays a role in Social media but
since magazines are now available to iPhones, iPads and other tablets the content advertisers are
putting out is viewed more easily and often.
This reference is a great source for my research because it gives you prime examples of body
image and how its connected to the social media today and from when it started to now. These
kinds of advertisers photo shopped skin and slim forms of truth. Health and fitness, of course,
being an available section such as Pinterest.
