Educ. 125- The Teaching Profession
A Trip to Realization
Theories I have learned from textbooks has been put in to reality and came up in to
realization. Educational Field Trip sounds as most interesting learning experience that every
student must have and I am so glad that I never wasted the chance to participate on this in spite
of financial problems. A thousand steps to take before I will witness the different great
Universities and Schools in Davao City. Somehow I was not able to sleep just because of too
much excitement for the very special event in my life. I knew that this Education tour that we
conducted is expensive that almost of my personal allowance has been spent but I never regret on
it since it was gratefully conducted and I enjoyed it much bonding with my co-students and
beloved teachers.
The cooperating schools during our educational field trip are the University of
Immaculate Conception (UIC), the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU), Davao City Special
School (DCSS), and the Mindanao Kukosai Daigaku (MKD) International School College.
These are the chosen learning venues that are probably appropriate to be observed. These
different schools are really excellent and on top in a sense of educational standards, prestigious
facilities and infrastructures, excellent in instruction, philosophies, and goals. Different schools
have different philosophies but it has common goals that are most likely anchored to the benefits
of each individual for social welfare, intercultural development, global peace, and to reach the
international standards. They are resourceful of facilities that are sustainable for all learners like
concrete school buildings, wide library with computers and varied collections of books, many
classrooms, elevators, wide canteens, huge gymnasium, different laboratories, school buses, and
etc. Infrastructures of these schools are fast rising and still keeping on upgrading their facilities
to keep abreast of these developments to sustain the needs of every learner. Though the conduct
observation is quite short to observe everything but well it is evident I guess that these schools
are really inspiring.
I have realized that teaching is a noble profession that needs commitment, passion,
having excellent moral character, and dedication to everyone and to God. Being in the highest
profession sometimes teaching is called, yet it is the most difficult role to handle with most
especially if the students have exceptionalities and diverse. I have encountered this thought in
teachers of Davao City Special School that in spite of how hard their role is they are still striving

and work for it as individuals who love what profession they have. Teaching learners with
exceptionalities needs more pedagogy in teaching, indeed it somehow requires multiple
strategies and methods in implementing instructions and effective classroom management that is
appropriate to learners with exceptionalities. Enriching Potentials of Exceptional Children is
far from teaching learners in normal conditions, indeed.

This Education Field Trip that we conducted is a meaningful experience I have ever
experienced in my college life. I learned a lot as I went there and observe explicit evidences that
are mostly given focus in academic welfare and emphasis in developing educational program
towards reaching goals. Learning beyond the four corners of the classroom is ideally
experiential, it is more than theories learned during discussions indeed learning things in
concrete experience is substantial learning for me. I was able to see what other schools have
which they are proud of. It would somehow come into realization that it is really nice to study in
a school which could guarantee a high quality education. The learning environment is really
ideal and conducive for everyone that their needs are met by schools. How I wish I could study
even one of these great Universities.

A three day Educational Tour is too short yet it is lifetime learning. It provides
meaningful learning experiences that could not be just learned from textbooks. This experience
would serve as inspiration and realization of being proud as pre-service teacher of a topnotch
school nationwide. This will serve as another step-stone to become a competitive and global
teacher someday.
