Brief description of Activity: This activity is designed to have students actualize different kinds of
fractions. Students will go to http://mrnussbaum.com/sushi-fractions/ . This activity is based on
accuracy and it shows the student what their score is at the end of each order. It also uses mixed
fractions and there is a tutorial that will explain how the game is done. When students finish they can
do the activity again and improve their accuracy.

Demonstrate an understanding of fractions by using concrete, pictorial and symbolic representations to:
create sets of equivalent fractions
compare fractions with like and unlike denominators.

Rationale for Computer Integration:
Using computer integration for this assignment will allow students to work at their own pace it is also
accessible through personal devices so the student can take it to a quiet place. It also shows mistakes to
the student with their different estimations for fraction value. This learning activity would be a great
review for students and is accessible to every student.

Search Strategies Employed:
I worked off of google, I used the specific search, title: math games fractions grade 5. There were a
few websites that showed up and it was a process of elimination. There are lots of games on this
website for mathematics and it is differentiated by grade.
