w Flange-back Adjusting Ring
This ring adjusts the back-focal distance or picture focus.
R otate this ring clockw ise for a C -m ount lens or counterclock-
w ise for a C S-m ount lens.

r Mount Adapter
The cam era m ounting screw hole is for m ounting the cam era
onto a m ounting bracket. The cam era is originally designed to
be m ounted from the bottom , how ever, a top-m ounting type is
also available. To m ount from the top, rem ove the m ount
adapter from the bottom of the cam era by rem oving tw o fixing
screw s. A ttach the m ount adapter to the top as show n in the
diagram , then m ount the cam era on the m ounting bracket.
M ake sure that tw o original screw s are used w hen m ounting
the m ount adapter; longer type screw s m ay dam age inner
com ponents, too shorter type screw s m ay cause the cam era
drop.

C onnect this pow er cord to an electrical outlet of 220 V - 240
V A C 50 H z.

o Automatic Light Control/Electronic Light Control Selector
(ALC, ELC)
Lets you select the m ode according to the lens type used.
ALC: Select this m ode w hen an auto iris lens (A LC lens) is
used w ith this cam era.
ELC: Select this m ode w hen a fixed iris lens or m anual iris lens
is used w ith this cam era.
!0 Back Light Compensation Mode Selectors
[BLC ON, OFF (ALC, ELC)]
Lets you select B LC O N or O FF according to the position of the
object and light conditions on the screen.
BLC ON: Select this m ode w hen a strong light such as a spot-
light is in the background.
OFF: N orm al picture.
1. C onfirm the position of the lens type and the lens drive sig-
nal selector.
2. If you have selected A LC , use the selector (A LC ) to select
the m ode.
If ELC is selected, select the m ode by selector (ELC ).
Caution: To use in A LC m ode, m ake sure to set the selector
(ELC ) to O FF position. To use in ELC m ode, m ake sure to
set the selector (A LC ) to O FF position.
!1 Lens Drive Signal Selector (VIDEO, DC)
Lets you select the m ode according to the type of auto iris lens
drive signal to be supplied to the lens from the auto iris lens
connector.
VIDEO: Select this m ode if you are using the auto iris lens that
requires a video drive signal.
DC: Select this m ode if you are using the auto iris lens that
requires a D C drive signal.
!2 Video Output Connector (VIDEO OUT)
This connector is for connecting w ith the VID EO IN connector
of the video m onitor.
W henever the m ultiplexed vertical drive (VD 2) signal is sup-
plied to this connector, the cam era synchronization m ode is
autom atically set to Vertical D rive.
Caution:
C onnect to 12 V D C (10.5 V-16 V) or 24 V A C (19.5 V-28 V)
class 2 pow er supply only. M ake sure to connect the ground-
ing lead to the G N D term inal w hen the pow er is supplied from
a 24 V A C pow er source.

8 Disassemble the Camera while referring to the item 2.
Disassembling Procedure for Adjustment.
8 Referring to Fig. 3-1, disconnect the connector CN3 on
the Video Board and remove the Flexible Board.
8 Referring to Fig. 3-1, remove two screws (Left x 1,Rigit x
1) that secure the Front Unit and remove the Front Unit.

<Setting Up for Standard Picture>
8 Mount the Manual Iris Lens (HF16A) on the Camera.
8 Set the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8 Incident light of 1 050 nt 50 nt (2 750 lx 150 lx) on the
Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8 Aim the Camera at the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8 Mount the ND8 Filter (1 pc.) on the Lens.
8 Set the Camera so that the Camera at the Logarithmic
Gray Scale Chart becomes full picture on the Under-
scanned Black and White Video Monitor.
8 Connect the Oscilloscope to TP4 (IRIS SIG) on the Video
Board.
8 Set the Lens Iris so that the signal level at TP4 becomes
500 mV 10 mV as shown in Fig. 4-2.

5. Adjustment Procedure
8 Refer to the Location of Test Points and Adjusting Con-
trols on the page 6.
(1) +10V Confirmation
Test Point: Pin 5 of CN1 (+10V) Video Board
8 Connect the Digital Voltmeter to Pin 5 of CN1.
8 Confirm that the Voltage at pin 5 of CN1 should be within
10.0 V 0.5 V.
(2) +5V Confirmation
Test Point: +Polarity of C9 (+5V) Video Board
8 Connect the Digital Voltmeter to + polarity of C9.
8 Confirm that the Voltage at + polarity of C9 should be
within 5.0 V 0.5 V.
(3) VSUB Adjustment
Test Point: TP4 (IRIS SIG) Video Board
Adjust: VR1 (VSUB) Video Board
8 Aim the Camera at the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart.
8 Connect the Oscilloscope to TP4.
8 Set the Lens Iris so that the signal level at TP4 becomes
approximately 1 750 mV as shown in Fig.5-1.

(4) Pedestal and Video Output Adjustment

8 Connect the Oscilloscope terminated with 75 to CN4.

8 Adjust VR3 so that the Pedestal signal level becomes
50 mV 10 mV as shown in Fig.5-3.

(5) ELC Level Adjustment

8 Set the Automatic Light Control/Electronic Light Control
Selector (on the Video Board SW1) to ELC position.
8 Aim the Camera at the Logarithmic Gray Scale Chart .
8 Connect the Oscilloscope to TP4.
8 While closing slowly the Lens Iris from Iris open (F1.4),
adjust VR5 so that the signal level at TP4 changes
between Ground level and 500 mV DC alternately.

putting on and taking off the Lens Cap.

8 Adjust VR1 so that the maximum luminance section (11th
portion of the Gray Scale Chart) of the signal at TP4 sat-
urates at 1 500 mV 100 mV as shown in Fig.5-2.
If can not reach to the specified level, while changing
(opening) the Lens Iris, adjust VR1 to the point where
only the 11th portion saturates.

700 mV 30 mV as shown in Fig. 5-5.
